Cabaret

Money makes the world go around, the world go around, the world go around...at least that is what the people in the fantastic musial Cabaret believe!  Set in 1930's Germany, this musical focuses on the Kit Kat Klub and those in it.  Aspiring cabaret performer Sally Bowles dreams of being an actress and not work in this club forever.  When young English writer Brian arrives she begins to pull him into her life eventually gaining a new lover.
Though within these happy thoughts a dark party is rising to power in Germany, the Nazis are a big part of this story.  The devilish and weasely Master of Ceremonies is a strict supporter of the Nazi party and their leader: Adolph Hitler.  Let me say this is one character you will love to hate.
The Broadway musical adaptation of this remerkable story is much different than the movie musical version.  For instance, Sally is 19 and from Britain in the broadway adaptation rather than probably late twenties early thirties and American in the movie.  And her love interest is not even named Brian, his name is Cliff and he is American instead of English.  You don't stray from the Kit Kat Klub on broadway but in the movie you are taken into the city of Germany and out in its countrysides.
With memorable performances in the movie by Liza Minelli as Sally Bowles, Michael York as Brian, and the notable Joel Grey as the devilish Emcee (who he also played in the broadway show).  In the department of amazing entertainment this musical takes the cake for sure!
Some of the most notable songs from the show are Mein Heir, Money Money, Two Ladies, and of course Cabaret!  Here's a link to Money Money sung by Liza Minelli and Joel Grey!

I highly recommend this wonderful musical to those a little older please be 13 or older before watching due to some sexual inuendos and scenes.
